more cooking fun

I tried the soup today. I skimped on some of the veggies I'm not too fond of and accidentally forgot the garlic. It was a LOT of work (lots of stuff to peel and chop) and kinda spicy. It made plenty of soup though! I may use this for a winter recipe and reduce the spices a little.

I ran outside today - talk about hot! I did intervals, but did run/walk instead of the usual run/jog that I do on the treadmill. I'm still building my outside endurance. I entertain the idea of running a race in the next year or two.

My husband might be joining the military. We'll know more Tuesday after the ASVAB. If he does, I plan to work while he's at Basic and AIT. We'll be able to save a chunk of money and I plan to use a little to outfit my kitchen a bit better. That way I won't feel so limited in the recipes I make! I need a new skillet (my biggest one is just trashed) another pot (the one I have is bent) and some other helpful items.

  1. Go for Revere Ware -- bestest pots ever! I have some that I picked up at some yard sales (it seems that all the women of our parents' generation are getting new cookware now and ditching their perfectly good old ones). I think Amazon.com has them too.
